This course will educate Mediators and Arbitrators on the legal issues, contractual duties and obligations contained in the California Residential Purchase Agreement and Joint Escrow Instructions (RPA) Form. Additionally, this course will cover other key legal issues and disputes that commonly arise in connection with residential real estate transactions.

Although some mediation and arbitration process issues may be addressed in the course materials, the primary purpose of this course is not to train on meditation and arbitration techniques, but rather to familiarize Mediators and Arbitrators with dispute trends under the RPA, relevant addenda and with applicable real estate and contract law.

It is the desire of the course preparers that the Mediator or Arbitrator, armed with increased substantive knowledge, can bring his or her own unique skill set to the mediation or arbitration process and be more effective in resolving residential real estate disputes.
