Course Description: 

This course is designed to provide information on federal, state and local legal issues. Topics covered are designed to raise awareness of potential pitfalls and expand your knowledge of fundamental legal terms and conditions. Understanding this course material will increase your ability to adequately represent clients. 

This is a survey course designed to familiarize students with:

• Fundamentals of Real Estate Law
• Basic Easement and Adverse Possession Law
• Description of Ways to Hold Title to Real Property
• Types of Deeds Used to Transfer Title
• Deeds of Trust
• Overview of Trusts and Probate
• Basic Landlord/Tenant Law
• California Department of Real Estate Issues
• Agency Law and Fiduciary Duties
• Basic Contract Law 

These courses will count towards achieving your Graduate, REALTOR® Institute Designation, which does not expire nor need to be renewed if students maintain active REALTOR® membership. This is a nationally recognized designation for REALTORS®.
